Missions Sunday

Mission, Missions, Missionary: words you hear frequently around here. We have a Missions section of our website that contains letters from Missionaries and videos of their reports. We have a Missions wall to graphically remind us of our task and our team; and we also have today – Missions Sunday. You will also receive a copy of our Missions Guide that has information on all of our Missionaries. Why all of this? The answer is simple: this is what we are about- the Mission that Christ gave us to take the Gospel and spread it around the world (Matt. 28: 16-20). This starts with every one of us and extends to those who have been specifically called to go to a people group other than their own to share the message of God's redemption.

Our task is to look beyond the limitations of our local surroundings and see the work from a far larger perspective. We need to see this world in need of Christ and ready for harvest. Ask God to open your eyes this day. This coming Sunday, October 19th will be Missions Sunday at Bible Center Church. Let me encourage you to come expecting God to change you outlook on this world in which we live.

We also need to recommit to praying for our Missionaries. In the last few years I have had the privilege of visiting our Missionaries on four different continents, and I can tell you first hand that these men and women do extraordinary things. Part of how they carry on is through our prayers; let’s not let them down.
